In order to meet the urgent needs of the socialist market economy for high-level and complex-type talents, in accordance with the spirit of the Circular of the State Council Academic Degrees Office on Recruiting Master’s Degree in Service in 2001, there will be 24 colleges and universities enrolling in public administration majors this year master’s degree. The Master of Public Administration, or MPA for short, is at the same level as the other master’s degrees in management but differs in type and focus. Carrying out MPA degree education is an important measure to cultivate high-quality specialized public management talents. It differs from the training requirements of teaching and research talents, and emphasizes the direct implementation of professional degree education in the field of public administration. As a vocational postgraduate education program, MPA aims to train top-level, applied-type professionals in public affairs and administration in the country, especially in the management of public affairs or public services for government agencies
