罗伯特·托马斯·斯普劳斯(Robert Thomas Sprouse,1922～)是美国著名的会计学家。由于其在会计理论与实务方面的突出贡献,成为1994年被选入美国会计名人堂的唯一一位会计大师。一、个人简要生平斯普劳斯虽然一生功成名就,但出身贫寒。1922年,斯普劳斯出生于圣地亚哥的乡村,父母离异后同母亲以及4个兄弟姐妹生活在一起。斯普劳斯是家里唯一读过大学的人。高中毕业后,他就读于圣地亚哥州立大学(San Diego StateCollege)。两年后,他因在校表现不理想而留校试读,直到1942年被征召入伍。后来,他就读于军官培训学校并于1945年被任命为步兵团第二陆军中尉。二战结束后,他受派遣进入国际军事法庭参与对战犯的审判工作。1949年,他辞去了这份工作回到圣地亚哥州立大学继续由于战争而停止的学业。
Robert Thomas Sprouse (1922 ~) is a famous American accountant. Because of its outstanding contributions to accounting theory and practice, he became the only accounting guru to be elected to the American Accounting Hall of Fame in 1994.
