In order to further improve the pattern of opening up to the outside world, expand development and opening up in the border areas and promote regional cooperation between China and its neighboring countries, the Chinese Frontier Institute of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Yunnan University, the National Institute of East Asian Studies of National University of Singapore, and Baoshan People’s Government in 2014 November 28-30, Tengchong, Yunnan jointly organized the “China Social Science Forum · Southwest Forum (2014): Development and Opening up of China’s Border Areas and Cooperation with Neighboring Regions” International Symposium.
