“老人是个宝,不是根草。无论是在关心教育下一代,还是发挥余热方面,老人都很有用。”广州老年书面影艺促进会会长张淑华女士在羊城论坛上如是说。由广州市人大常委会研究室、广州电视台主办,广州社情民意研究中心协办,广州市老龄委承办的大型政论性电视公开论坛——第52期《羊城论坛》,以“广州市老龄化社会管理问题大家谈”为主题,6月29日上午在广州市人大常委会办公大楼二楼大厅举行,吸引了不少老人自发前来参加。据资料统计,广州市60岁以上的老龄人口超过80万人,已步入老龄化社会。如何引导全社会把搞好老龄工作的思想,统一到中央和省关于加强老龄工作决定的认识上来,正确认识和理解做好老龄化社会管理工作的迫切性和必要性,正是举办本期《羊城论坛》的目的及意义。
