Head and neck cancer is suitable for regional arterial chemotherapy. Although there have been some successful reports, due to difficulties in intubation and leaving the catheter, chemotherapy in the arterial region is not generally performed without systemic chemotherapy. In order to overcome the above shortcomings, the authors used the transposition of the carotid artery with fine needle puncture perfusion to perform chemotherapy without arterial intubation. From January 1984 to February 1987, 40 patients with advanced head and neck cancer were selected for chemotherapy.
