2010年3月1日,华盛顿州卫生部(WADOH)告知西雅图及金郡卫生局(PHSKC)发生1例疑似与接种痘苗的士兵发生性接触后致接触传播痘苗病毒的个案。性接触致痘苗病毒感染曾有报道。尽管该患者有暴露史及临床表现,但首次接诊患者的内科医师起初并未作出上述诊断,而是对其进行了若干一般性传播疾病(SexualLy Transmitted Disease,STD)的实验室检测。
On March 1, 2010, the Washington State Department of Health (WADOH) informed the Seattle and Kings County Health Department (PHSKC) of the 1 case of suspected contact with the vaccinia virus following a sexual contact with a vaccinated soldier. Vaccination caused by sexual contact has been reported. Although the patient had a history of exposure and clinical presentation, the physician who first sought out the patient initially did not make the diagnosis, but performed a number of laboratory tests on several Sexually Transmitted Diseases (STD).
