Phosphorus-iron-iron-uranium deposits are the first ever found in the nature of quadrivalent uranium-bearing minerals, but also a native uranium minerals. The mineral was discovered during X-ray diffraction studies by D. Atkins et al. The mineral and its nomenclature have been approved by the New Mineral and Mineral Nomenclature of the International Minerals Association.
