以短的时间,简单的设备,测定钢铁中的含碳量是符合党的多快好省方针的。为了能够适应钢铁工业遍地开花,解决钢铁中碳的化验问题,我们装置了一种土定碳仪,利用它测钢铁中含碳量。优点是在于以普通易得的试剂代替了比色法与重量法中贵重难得的试剂,而且消耗量很少,以自制仪器代替价高又不易买到的进口货。甚至试样的处理,要求也比其他方法低。一、原理:在高温下 (1100℃—1200℃)使氧气通过已予热过的试样,试样中的碳与氧化合成二氧化碳,再用硷吸收产生的二氧化碳。C+O_2=CO_2.CO_2+2KOH=K_2CO_2+H_2O从被吸收的量来计算出原试样中含碳百分数。
