1995年6月,广袤的豫东平原一片金黄。在一方300亩小麦试验田里,来自国家、省、地、县的专家学者和省、地、县领导一行几十人,正聚精会神地听一位年轻人讲解着,田头的一块标牌上写着:“‘高农2号’小麦试验田”。这位讲话的人叫陈贤信,是商丘市瞧阳区高辛乡张陈庄村人,时年32岁,农艺师,河南省小麦研究会会员、商丘分会副理事长、商丘市农作物品种展览中心主任。1980年,陈贤信以0.5分之差高考落榜。人们劝他重读,他却因家庭生活困难没能如愿。他看到父辈们年复一年面朝黄土背朝天的辛苦劳作,仍没能摆脱生活的贫困,便决心用自己学到的知识实现自己的人生价值,使父老乡亲们都过上好日子。当年,他在自己承包的责任田里搞起了小麦育种试验。由于不懂技术,尽管付出了艰辛的劳动,还是失败了。
