2004年首届美术文献展的策划与《美术文献》杂志有关。1993-2004年,作为中国为数不多的当代艺术杂志,它忠实记录了当代艺术十年的变化。作为杂志负责人我萌生了做一个展览来总结的想法,也以此对这十年做一个回顾,同时得到领导与艺术界同仁的支持与认同。于是第一届美术文献展在无固定场地、缺经费的背景下动员了各方力量的参与,成为当年艺术界的重要事件之一,也是湖北首次按三年展模式举办的展览。2007年,展览开始了与湖北美术馆的首度合作,在共同努力
The first art documentary exhibition in 2004 was planned in association with Art Literature. From 1993 to 2004, as one of the few contemporary art magazines in China, it faithfully recorded the ten years of contemporary art. As the head of the magazine, I initiated the idea of making an exhibition to summarize, and also made a review of the ten years and won the support and recognition of my colleagues in the leadership and art circles. As a result, the first art documentary exhibition mobilized the participation of all parties in the absence of any fixed space and lack of funds.
