建所之初,为应煤矿安全工作的需要,我们仿照日本战前产品,试制和批量生产了沼气检定光学干涉仪,并向云南某厂推广。其后,更有多处工厂大量生产。型号、式样累有改进,此类仪器在矿井中得到普遍应用。通过该仪器的试制,提高了干涉测量技术及仪器制造技术,后来并做了进一步改进。利用光学技术把原来的干涉场划为两半,且使两半有相反的移动方向,使读数精度提高了5倍。曾试制了数台送给外单位使用。
