没能走进楼兰古城遗址,是此行最大的遗憾,因此我更愿意把去过的方城理解为更早的楼兰古城了。而在楼兰雅丹区查看到这么多这么集中的被盗古墓,并亲身参与了追拿盗墓疑犯的过程,不仅对我来说,就是对新疆文物考古研究所的各位来说,也是从未有过的经历。身临其境,同时也深切地感受到即便在这样的地方,保护好祖国的、人类的文化遗产也不是一件容易的事。24日晨,我早早起来,钻出帐篷,我想独自告别楼兰。我最想瞭望的是营地的正东,被盗壁画墓正东,越过约2公里宽的开阔地,有数座看起来如城墙般的雅丹,太阳正要从那里升起。
