1992年1月26日,山西省文字工作者就吕叔湘等八位专家关于《加强国家对语言文字的管理》的呼吁,在省城太原举行座谈会。 与会同志认为,吕淑湘等专家的呼吁有很强的针对性,它虽然主要是讲对外宣传工作中的问题,但也适用于国内。《呼吁》把语言文字的运用问题提到维护国家宪法、法令的权威性和维护民族尊严的高度来认识,使大家很受启发和教育。当前,社会上滥用繁体字、滥用方言、滥用英语的现象已经到了不可容忍的程度。与会同志联系某些错误主张在山西的影响进行了认真的讨论。大家表示要增强语言文字规范意识,在各自的科研、教学工作中努力宣传和坚决贯彻国家的语言文字方针政策,纠正在语言文字方面的种种错误倾向,并提出了一些建设性意见。《山西人学习普通话丛书》编委会还表示要继续组织编写好这套丛书,以实际行动做好语言规范化工作。
On January 26, 1992, writers in Shanxi Province held a symposium on the appeal made by eight experts such as Lu Shuxiang on “Strengthening State Administration of Language and Writing” in Taiyuan, the capital city. The comrades in the meeting held that the appeals of experts such as Lv Shuxiang have a strong pertinence. Although they mainly cover the issues in publicity work, they also apply domestically. The Appeal calls for recognizing the issue of the use of spoken and written language in safeguarding the authority of the country’s constitution and decrees and maintaining the dignity of the nation so that everyone can be inspired and educated. At present, the phenomenon of abuse of traditional Chinese characters, misuse of dialects and abuse of English has reached an intolerable level. The comrades in the meeting contacted some mistaken ideas advocated in Shanxi for a serious discussion. We all expressed the need to enhance the awareness of norms in language and writing, make efforts to publicize and resolutely implement the national language and policies in their respective research and teaching work, correct all the erroneous tendencies in language and writing and put forward some constructive suggestions. “Shanxi people learn Putonghua Series” editorial board also said that we should continue to organize the preparation of this series, to do a good job of language standardization.
