1991年9月25日晨,中共中央直属机关八个部(委、办、校)和各民主党派中央机关的25辆满载衣被的卡车,从北京启程驶往安徽灾区。这一天同行的还有国家教委、建设部等单位的车队,总计120多辆车。他们在到达安徽省后,分头驶往各自的目的地。中直机关车队从北京出发,一路上跨越五省(市)的数十个县市,历时4天,行程1600余公里,于9月28日晚抵达安徽省绩溪县,将中直机关八单位和各民主党派中央机关近万名干部职工捐献的5万多件衣被,安全、顺利地送到了灾区人民的手中。
