《贵妃醉酒》描写杨玉环受唐明皇宠幸,偶尔见疏,在百花亭独饮,沉醉自怨,是家喻户晓的传统剧目,也是京剧艺术大师梅兰芳的拿手杰作。至于来源,其说不一,无法确考。我认为可能是源于清初传奇《长生殿》。《长生殿》第十八出《夜怨》的唱词与排场,虽与《醉酒》不同,但基本情节类似,后来的《醉酒》,很可能就是按其轮廓加以演绎创作而成。有些专家认为是源自清初传奇《磨尘鉴》,其实二者也只足故事轮廓相似,
