我们的旅行车,在平坦的公路上飞驰着。当厦门这个迷人城市愈来愈靠近时,大家情不自禁的说笑声、议论声以至欢呼声,也愈来愈稠了。而我的视线和情感,却一直被窗外那如织如画的景致深深吸引,不由自主地嚷起来:“瞧,集美——水美、林美、街道美、建筑美……‘集’天下之‘美’哟!”不错,这里环境是美的,风光是美的,人的心灵更是美的。出生在这里的陈嘉庚,就是集美的骄傲,集美的杰出代表。大半正是这个缘故,我们没进厦门,就不约而同地扎到了陈嘉庚先生的故里——集美镇。这是座独具风韵的海滨学村,碧波荡漾的细浪,逶迤连绵的长堤,鳞次栉比的大厦,和谐紧凑地点缀着绿的树、红的花、白的帆,五颜六色的亭台榭阁……着实令人心旷神怡、目不暇接。

We spontaneously went to the hometown of Mr. Tan Kah Kee, Jimei Town. This is a unique seaside village, rippling rippling waves, rolling long banks, row upon row of buildings, harmonious and compact dotted with green trees, red flowers, white sails, colorful Pavilion Pavilion ... really refreshing, dizzying.
