The World Energy Council believes that the world energy demand will continue to maintain the momentum of rapid growth. According to statistics, from 1970 to 1995, the world’s energy demand increased from 8.3 billion tons of standard coal units to 14 billion tons of standard coal units, by 2020 to 19.5 billion tons of standard coal units.
