Artemisinin 1 is a new anti-malarial drug isolated from plants, attracting attention due to its unique chemical structure and remarkable efficacy. Research on its properties, reactions, total synthesis and its derivatives has been reported. In order to further study the synthesis of artemisinin and its analogs (including the synthesis of isotope labeled compounds) and the study of the structure-activity relationship of artemisinin compounds, and to explore more superior drugs, it is imperative to find a suitable starting material.
