Global food prices show upward trend In early June, the World Bank released the latest issue of Food Price Watch. International food prices rose 4% on average in the first half of this year, ending the downward trend that has continued since August 2012 and showing signs of recovery . Among them, the price of wheat rose by as much as 18% in the international market. However, although the market continues to predict an unprecedented global food harvest and stocks are expected to increase in 2014, the Bank believes that the impact of the weather in the United States, the global El Niño phenomenon and the Ukraine’s tensions will affect the world grain prices to varying degrees, Whether the price rebounded on the basis of strong, still need to observe.
