青葙子为常用中药,有清肝、明目、降血压的功能。中国药典1990年版规定青葙子为苋科植物青葙(Celosia argentea)的种子。但市场上常有伪品混杂。通过调查,发现朔州地区不产青葙子,而常常把同种植物反枝苋(Amaranthus refroflexus,俗称苋菜、老来红),藜科植物刺藜(Chenopodium aristatum,俗称鸡冠子)和藜(Chenopodium album,别名灰菜、灰条菜、白藜)的种子误当作青葙子收购使用。刺藜的种子充当青葙子,过去未见报道。现就其性状等特征介绍如下
