北京科学仪器厂系北京市于1956年最早建立的两家光学仪器厂之一。至今,该厂已发展成为一家综合性的光学仪器厂。现有职工千余人,工程技术人员有百余人,工程师50余名,绝大部分为文化大革命前的大学毕业生,包括光学、机械、电器等各方面的专业,一般都具有二十年以上的专业工作经验。车间有较强的技术力量,老工人多。该厂厂办技术学校,每年定期招考高中毕业生,三年后毕业分配在该厂各车间科室工作,以补充和提高各处的技术力量。北京科仪厂共有五个生产车间:光学车间、电器
