清朝科举分为三甲。头甲三人,即状元、榜眼和探花,赐进士及第;二甲第一名,称“传胪”(起初,三甲头名亦称传胪,后仅限于二甲头名),中二甲赐进士出身;三甲若干人,赐同进士出身。这里的“同”只是“相当于”罢了。
