徐流传至今的稿本《红雨楼集·鳌峰文集》十二册,其中第三册至第八册为尺牍,藏上海图书馆。数百年来,徐兴公尺牍颇受关注,陈寿祺、陈衍等都有过简要论述。经过反复核对统计,稿本共有尺牍742通(含各自独立的残篇),去其重复2通,启体滥入1通,今存739通,尺牍收件人计352人(残件无法判断收件人不计,一通书信有两位以上收件人只计前一位)。徐去世后,稿本几经易手,收藏者重装,编排无序;我们重加编排,统计各年所作篇数,今存尺牍最早的是万历二十年(1592),最晚为崇祯十五年(1642),所存尺牍最多的是崇祯十三年(1640),计75通;五十一年间,有十年的尺牍全部散佚。收件人篇数最多的是李峻19通,5通以上计32人。兴公尺牍内容丰富,一方面可与其诗文互证及订补,另一方面披露了徐协助曹学佺编《石仓十二代诗选》、《石仓明文选》的细节,亦涉及到家事与乡里琐事等。

After repeated checks and statistics, the manuscript a total of 742 feet (with their own independent residual articles), go to its repeated 2 links, start to abuse a pass, now deposit 739 pass, ultimatum receiver 352 (residual can not judge If the recipients do not count, there are more than two recipients in the letter of the first pass only counting the first one). After Xu’s death, the scripts were changed hands and the collectors reassembled and disorganized. We re-arranged and counted the number of articles made in each year. The earliest surviving scripts were Wanli’s two decades (1592) In the first five years (1642), the highest number of ruins was Chongzhen’s thirteen years (1640), accounting for 75 passes; in fifty-one years, ten years of ruins were all lost. Recipients most is Li Jun 19 pass, 5 pass above the total of 32 people. Hing Gong Chi 牍 rich in content, on the one hand with each of its poetry exchange of evidence and revised, on the other hand disclosed Xu â ?? help Cao Xue 佺 compilation of “Ishiburo twelve generation of poetry,” “Ishikura Ming anthology” details, but also involves the family and Township trivia and so on.
