狮山是滇中名山,雄奇壮美,具有“西南第一山”的誉称,因山形似一头伏卧的雄狮而得名。它位于武定县城以西3公里,通柏油路,距昆明88公里,山顶海拔2419.8米,比县城高出680米。狮山风光奇丽,景点众多,现已开辟出70多个景点,有茂密的林海、宏伟的古刹、冠盖西南的大型牡丹园、怪石嶙峋的巉岩景区,以及建文皇帝遁迹狮山的神奇传说等等。有诗云“鲜花满砌香偏远,老树撑天色倍浓。”“绝顶僧房闲日月,半空佛阁倚烟霞。”“巉岩在天边,与日原相近。”“莫道此山非佛国,大明皇帝也为
