果树小蠹虫Scolytus japonicus Chapuis亦称日本小蠹,是核果类果树毁灭性害虫之一。在昌黎地区,7～8年生桃树受害株率达60～70％(盛果期桃树受害株率达96.7％);李树及樱桃受害株率分别达81％及80％左右。被害植株遍体流胶,树势严重衰弱,枝枯树亡。该虫往往与多毛小蠹虫Scolytus seuleusis Muray.合并危害。为了弄清其生活经过及习性,笔者采取了以下两种观察方法: 1.枝条饲养法:选枝径2.5厘米以上李树枝,待失去一定水分后截成适当长度枝
