汉冶萍煤铁厂矿公司的核心企业是汉阳铁厂,始建于1890年,是我国第一个近代钢铁企业,也是亚洲第一个大型钢铁联合企业,早于日本八幡钢铁厂7年。外国人参观汉阳铁厂后认为“厂区烟囱林立,厂房栉比相连”,是当时有世界声誉的钢铁厂。 汉阳铁厂全盛时期建有4座高炉、7座平炉、2座酸性转炉、5台轧钢机。建设规模为年产生铁23万t,钢7万t,具有相应的轧钢能力。1号、2号高炉容积为248m~3,设计利用系数为0.4t/(m~3·d),公称能力为100t/d。3号、4号高炉容积为
