Has long been a popular view that agriculture is relatively low cost-effectiveness. The farming out of touch, for the separation of production and marketing of agricultural labor too much, the agricultural sector is limited to the production of primary products, raw materials, compared with the manufacturing and business is relatively low cost-effectiveness. Performance comparative labor productivity is low, the unit of investment is relatively low yield, at a disadvantage in the competition in the market, it is difficult to share the interests of the market transactions, because value-added processing and distribution aspects of the profits flow to return to the industrial and trade sectors. However, in the industrialized operation of agriculture under the conditions of agriculture in the prenatal, delivery and postpartum link links to form a complete industrial chain, the implementation of services, production, processing, distribution of industrial management, specialized, large-scale production of social play organization and coordination of synergies and industry to generate the aggregate economies of scale, agricultural productivity must grow faster than industrial productivity, thus greatly improving the comparative efficiency of agriculture, enhance the competitive position of the agricultural industry, resulting in agriculture is likely to become the highest cost profit industry.
Agricultural productivity is the cornerstone of more effective, is also divided into an important symbol of industrial progress. Marx said that to a certain stage of industrialization, agricultural productivity relatively growing faster than industrial productivity on the condition that the industrial progress, that is: ① use of accumulation of capital for large-scale business, shrewd businessman to replace the traditional farmers to become guidance, organization, driven by the protagonist of the agricultural industry development; ② science and technology in all aspects of the industrialization of agriculture to the general, technological progress has become the most important or even the main source of productivity growth in agriculture; the ③ agricultural reproduction process, particularly agricultural products processing industry using industrialized way operation. Industrial management of agriculture as an important part of the modern development in this direction and fully comply with the connotation of Marx’s theory of industrial progress.
Marx also pointed out that before the "capitalist mode of production, agricultural productivity is higher than the industry as natural as machines and organisms involved in human labor in agriculture, naturally in the industry almost entirely by a human instead of (for example: Handicraft etc.). period of vigorous development of capitalism, with agricultural, industrial productivity has developed rapidly, agricultural and industrial productivity growth imbalance. "However, industrial development to a certain stage, this imbalance must narrow, that is, agricultural productivity must be relatively than industrial productivity grew faster". As the agricultural reproduction determine the characteristics of productivity growth in agriculture by natural factors and social factors. Agriculture "industry, the more progress, the impact of agricultural productivity growth of" natural boundaries of the more retreat, while the role of social factors, the more increased. Industrialization in China has entered the mid-stages of development, it is this industrial progress of the industrial management of agriculture.
