浦东开发开入14年来,经济蓬勃发展,面貌日新月异,特别是在招商引资中天时地利、海纳百川的区位和政策优势,吸引了大批跨国公司纷纷投资浦东。至去年底,世界排名500强的跨国公司已有180多家落户浦东,投资项目达350多个,合同外资70亿美金。更有不少公司将统领整个亚太地区业务的总部迁入浦东,另外一些干脆直接将设在浦东的中国区总部升级为亚太区总部。
