The VUV PFI PE spectrum of trichlorethylene was measured in the energy range of 76 4 0 0 ~ 796 5 0cm-1. According to the calculated frequency and the Franck-Condon factor of trichlorethylene, the VUV PFI PE The vibrational bands of the spectra were calibrated and the vibrational frequencies of the 11 trichlorethylene cations were confirmed: ν1 + = 14 8cm -1, ν2 + = 180cm -1, ν3 + = 2 86cm -1, ν4 + = 40 Ν5 + = 4 72 cm -1, ν 6+ = 6 6 0 cm -1, ν 7+ = 875 cm -1, ν 8+ = 990 cm -1, ν 9+ = 10 38 cm -1, ν 10+ = 12 6 7 cm -1, 0 8cm-1 These measurements, along with the newly determined ν12 + = 3073cm-1 by ion-induced ionization by vacuum ultraviolet (UV) light, provide experimental values for all 12 vibrational frequencies of the trichlorethylene cationic ground state. The ionization energy of trichlorethylene was determined to be (76 4 4 1.7 ± 2 .0) cm -1 (9.4 776 ± 0 .0 0 0 2) eV by spectral fitting of spectral (0, 0) transition bands.
