1981年日本在切削加工方面作了很多研究,主要有如下课题: ①对刀具损坏的研究比较活跃,对难加工材料,复合材料。陶瓷等新型工艺材料的加工性能和加工方法的研究有所增加, ②积极研究钻头、立铣刀、拉刀等具有复杂切削刃的刀具的切削机理。研究涉及的方面很广,如刀瘤和切屑生成机理、切断角解析、三维切削力学、切削力的动态成分、应变速度和温度对切削力和变形应力的影响、铝单结晶的切削、断续切削中刀具前面的应力、钻头、球形立铣刀、铣刀、针状铣刀、拉刀等的切削机理、车削加工面的生成机理等。③在可加工性方面,对硅铝复合材料,GFRP,烧结钢、淬火工具钢等进行了研究。
