20世纪是风云际会的世纪，是世界局势剧烈动荡的百年。历史的车轮碾过百年之后，留给人们许多沉重的思考。江总书记在“七一”讲话中指出：“治国必先治党，治党必先从严。要深刻认识和吸取世界上一些长期执政的共产党丧失政权的教训。”在历史的潮起潮落中，我们亲眼目睹了一些国家的兴起和沉落、许多政党的兴衰与成败。特别是近十几年来，执政了几十年的苏联、东欧共产党纷纷垮台，墨西哥革命制度党和我国台湾地区的国民党等失去执政党地位，成为20世纪政党政治发展进程中发人省思的现象。与此形成鲜明对比的是，中国共产党、古巴共产党、新加坡人民行动党等一些政党依然保持着旺盛的政治生命力，得到本国人民的爱戴和拥护。当我们站在历史的潮头，回顾这些政党的风雨历程，总结这些政党兴衰成败的经验与教训时，对新世纪我们党的建设会有很多启示。
The twentieth century is a century of great changes in the world and a century of violent turmoil in the world. After a century of history, the wheels have left many people thinking deeply. In his “1 July” speech, General Secretary Jiang pointed out: “To govern the country must first governed the party and the party governing the party must be strictly implemented. We must profoundly understand and learn from the lessons learned by some of the world’s long-ruling communists in losing power.” In the ebb and flow of history We have witnessed the rise and fall of some countries and the rise and fall of many political parties. Especially in the past decade or so, the Soviet Union that ruled for decades, the collapse of Eastern European Communists, the loss of the ruling party status such as the Mexican Revolutionary Institutional Party and the Kuomintang in Taiwan of our country became the phenomenon of thoughtlessness in the political development of party politics in the 20th century . In stark contrast, some political parties, such as the Chinese Communist Party, the Cuban Communist Party and the Singapore People’s Action Party, have maintained their vigorous political vitality and enjoyed the love and support of their own people. When we stand at the forefront of history, review the stormy history of these political parties and sum up the experiences and lessons learned from the success or failure of these political parties, we can find much inspiration about our party’s construction in the new century.
