在党中央和国务院的亲切关怀下,科技部、中央宣传部和中国科协联合召开的第二次全国科普工作会议今天隆重开幕。这次会议是在全党和全国人民按照党的十五大所确定的跨世纪发展目标胜利前进,改革开放和现代化建设取得伟大成就的重要时刻召开的。召开这次会议,对于进一步认清形势,明确任务,动员全社会做好科普工作,推动科教兴国战略的实施都具有十分重要的意义。江泽民总书记的贺信,为今后的科普工作指明了方向。刚才,家宝副总理代表党中央、国务院对做好跨世纪的科普工作作了重要指示,朱丽兰部长和刘云山副部长也都作了重要讲话。这里我简要汇报一下近几年来科协的科普工作,并讲几点意见,供大家参考。一、紧密围绕全党全国工作大局,坚持以经济建
Under the cordial concern of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council, the second national science popularization meeting jointly held by the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Central Propaganda Department and the China Association for Science and Technology was opened today. The meeting was held at an important moment when the entire Party and the people of the whole country won in accordance with the goal of trans-century development as set forth in the 15th National Party Congress, and achieved great achievements in reform, opening up and modernization drive. The convening of this meeting is of great significance for further understanding of the situation, defining the tasks, mobilizing the entire society to do a good job in science popularization and promoting the implementation of the strategy of rejuvenating the country through science and education. General Secretary Jiang Zemin's letter of congratulation pointed out the direction for the future popularization of science. Just now, Vice Premier Jia Bao made important instructions on behalf of the Party Central Committee and the State Council on doing well the cross-century science popularization. Both Minister Zhu Lilan and Vice Minister Liu Yunshan also made important speeches. Here, I briefly report on the work of science popularization in recent years, and make a few comments for your reference.
