含“先行主语it”句是英语中最常见但结构较特殊的句式之一。机器翻译,即应用计算机实现从一种语言文本到另一种语言文本的翻译。虽然历经六十多年的发展,机译文本的质量已有大幅提高,但由于含“先行主语it”句式结构特殊,其机译文本可读性一直不强。分析Google和ICIBA处理的文本,发现含“先行主语it”句机译文本的问题主要为语序混乱、it处理不当及词义歧义。而导致这些问题的因素有两方面:自然语言的复杂性和机器翻译研究的不完善性。
One of the most common but structurally specific sentences in English with the “leading subject it ” sentence. Machine translation, that is, using computers to translate text from one language to another. Although the quality of machine translated text has been greatly improved after more than sixty years of development, the readability of machine translated texts has not been strong due to the special sentence structure of “it”. Analyzing the texts processed by Google and ICIBA, we find that the main problems of machine translation texts containing “antecedent it ” sentences are confusion of orders, improper treatment of it and ambiguity of words. The factors that lead to these problems are twofold: the complexity of natural language and the imperfection of machine translation research.
