南沙群岛及其附近海域,自古以来就是中国的固有领土,中国对其拥有无可争辩的主权。近段时间以来,为改善驻岛工作及生活条件,中国对部分驻守岛礁进行一些扩建,完善医疗、气象、环境观测等设施,这本是中国主权范围内的事情,合情、合理、合法。但总有个别国家别有用心,对中国的岛礁扩建说三道四。长期以来,中国与南海周边的东南亚国家和平共处,双方完全有能力维护好这片海域的和平。
