While whether the strong growth will remain the same in the following year of 2002 is largely a question mark, experts have pointed out the variables that will influence the trends in China telecom market.Globally, as a part of economic recession, the telecom market is deeply trapped in gloom. It is impossible to realize the promises of 3G and broadband in short future. Growing integrated with the global one, China telecom market will be definitely influenced by global factors, whether positive or negative.Meanwhile, competition will increase as the split of China Telecom has become affirmative. It is predicted that demand for network equipment will become strong in the second half of 2002 while the field of value-added services will open its door to non-telecom capitai. But the biggest concern is when the next license for wireless communication will be granted.In contrast, the reform of regulatory framework in telecom industry seems to be unattractive. People pay more attention to how foreign money will infiltrate into China telecom market after China admission to WTO. These foreign giants may not behave as quickly as experts predicted. And foreign telecom gurus can hardly take out too much money because they have been trapped in the sluggish capital market for so long time.
