第十二届国际沉积学大会于1986年8月24日至30日在澳大利亚首都堪培拉市举行,这次大会由国际沉积学家协会、澳大利亚地质学会、新西兰地质学会共同组织,并得到澳大利亚国家矿产资源局的赞助。会议为期七天,其中大会一天,分组专题报告会和讨论会六天。会前、会后还分别在澳大利亚、新西兰和巴布亚新几内亚境内的25条路线上进行5至10天的地质考察。952名代表来自40多个国家
The 12th International Conference on Sedimentology was held in Canberra, the capital of Australia from August 24 to August 30, 1986. The conference was jointly organized by the International Association of Sedimentologists, the Australian Geological Society and the New Zealand Geological Society and was jointly funded by the Australian National Mineral Resources Bureau sponsors. The meeting lasted seven days, of which one day for the conference, grouping special reports and discussions for six days. Before the meeting, five to ten geological expeditions will be conducted on 25 routes in Australia, New Zealand and Papua New Guinea separately after the meeting. 952 delegates come from more than 40 countries
