Satellite remote sensing provides a viable method for large-scale ocean observations. The most important application of satellite data to the study of marine primary productivity is the establishment of a suitable algorithm for calculating primary productivity from pigment concentrations derived from ocean-water color remote sensing data. Due to plant physiology problems, there is some difficulty in establishing a suitable primary productivity algorithm. It is necessary to understand and establish the physiological rate parameters and distribution structure of phytoplankton in water. Based on the analysis of the spectral response of photosynthesis in underwater light field and algae, the paper expounds the bio-geodynamic problems in remote sensing of marine primary productivity.
