Few people in today's business world think about being able to do business without relying on overnight delivery systems like FedEx. Federal Express courier boxes and trucks have become familiar to American viewers, and FedEx planes shuttle around the world on a busy day, delivering everything from chocolates to aircraft accessories to large and small goods of varying sizes. Frederick Smith, president, chairman and chief executive officer of FedEx, is widely recognized as “the founder of overnight delivery services.” The Marines, once hovering on the brink of bankruptcy, is now one of the most successful legends in the U.S. business community.
