目前,已有多种阴道避孕剂,但它们都含有表面活性剂作为其活性成份,后者可破坏精子表面膜,引致细胞死亡。Homm等新近报道,ORF13904具有很强的阴道避孕活性,但它既不是表面活性剂也缺乏毒杀精子的特性。实验证明,ORF13904为水溶性化合物,用兔进行实验其避孕效力强于目前常用的阴道避孕剂,而且在交配前置于阴道内,它具有长效作用。与目前常用的阴道避孕剂不同,ORF13904不杀伤精子,而是抑制精子穿透宫颈粘液。本文进一步研究了该阴道避孕剂改变精子与宫颈粘液相互作用的机制。作者用兔作为动物模型,于整体与体外条件下研究了ORF13904的作用机制。为观察ORF13904对兔精子运动的影响,用人工阴道收集具正常生育
Currently, there are a variety of vaginal contraceptives, but they all contain surfactants as their active ingredient, which can damage the surface membrane of sperm and cause cell death. Homm et al. Recently reported that ORF13904 has strong vaginal contraceptive activity, but it is neither surfactant nor toxic or spermicidal properties. Experiments show that, ORF13904 is a water-soluble compounds, experiments with rabbits its contraceptive effectiveness is stronger than the current commonly used vaginal contraceptives, and placed in the vagina before mating, it has long-lasting effect. Unlike currently used vaginal contraceptives, ORF 13904 does not kill sperm, but inhibits sperm penetration of cervical mucus. This article further studies the vaginal contraceptives to change the mechanism of sperm and cervical mucus interaction. The authors used rabbit as an animal model to study the mechanism of action of ORF 13904 under global and in vitro conditions. To observe the effect of ORF 13904 on sperm motility in rabbits, artificial insemination
