据澳门警方统计资料显示:1995年发生罪案5316宗,较1994年的4178宗,增加27.2%。其中扰乱公共秩序及安宁的罪案有628宗,较1994年的508宗增加了23.6%;侵犯人身的案件有1040宗,较1994年增加33%;侵犯他人财产的罪案有3648宗,较1994年的2890宗增加26.2%(包括偷窃案和抢劫案),偷窃案增加24.3%,抢劫案增加32.6%,据说,罪案上升与经济不景气、失业率上升有关。交通方面,1995年检控违例个案有206000宗,导致伤亡的交通意外有212宗。出入境方面,1995年经码头入境旅客有691万多人次,出境有691万多人次,经关闸入境旅客有930多万人次,出境有940多万人次。
