美国辛辛那提·密拉克隆公司(Cincirnnati Milacron)在两年前研制了密拉克隆T~3通用工业机器人。1978年11月,T~3机器人首先使用在F—16多用途型喷气战斗机的制造中,对石墨/环氧树脂的垂直尾翼蒙皮的550个固定孔进行占削工作,还用于对焊接接头作X光探查及红外线控制板的装配工作。机器人的这一应用,不仅大大提高了生产效率,而且、可以使人脱离单调容易疲劳、肮脏和恶劣的工作环境。通过实际使用T~3机器人取得了良好的效果。
