2001年:全运会、东亚运动会、世界大学生运动会男子110米栏冠军。2002年:世界室内田径大奖赛,平60米栏7秒55的亚洲纪录;瑞士洛桑国际田联一级大奖赛以13秒12的成绩打破男子110米栏亚洲纪录;第14届亚运会男子110米栏冠军。2003年:世界室内田径锦标赛男子60米栏第3名,结束了中国男选手在该项赛事中18年未夺牌的历史。2004年:世界室内田径锦标赛刘翔分别以7秒46和7秒43两次打破男子60米栏的亚洲室内纪录并夺得亚军,再次书写了中国田径历史;奥运会男子110米栏夺得金牌,并以12秒91平了由英国名将科林·杰克逊保持的世界纪录。这枚金牌是中国男选手在奥运会上夺得的第一枚田径金牌。
2001: National Games, East Asian Games, World University Games men's 110 meters hurdles champion. 2002: World Indoor Athletics Grand Prix, Asian 60m hurdles 55 seconds 7 seconds; IAAF Switzerland Lausanne Grand Prix to break the men's 110m hurdles Asian record 13 seconds 12 results; the 14th Asian Games men 110 Hurdles champion. 2003: World Indoor Athletics Championships men's 60 meters hurdles third, ending the Chinese men's players in the event 18 years without winning history. 2004: Liu Xiang, the world Indoor Athletics Championships, broke the Asian indoor record of 60 meters hurdles and won the runner-up twice in 7 seconds, 46 seconds and 43 seconds respectively, once again writing the history of Chinese track and field. The Olympic men's 110 meters hurdles medal won 91 to 12 seconds by the British star Colin Jackson maintained a world record. This gold medal is the first gold medal won by Chinese male athletes at the Olympic Games.
