南京军区福州总医院又称东方医院,是闽赣两省部队的医疗中心。医院诞生于福州解放的1949年8目17日。47年来,医院从一个仅有100余张床位的肺病疗养院发展成为具有800余张床位,49个临床和医技科室的集医疗、科研、教学和预防保健为一体的综合性医院。 医院现有硕士学位的研究生75人,博士生12人。全院副高级职称以上的专业技术人员120人。护理队伍中大专以上毕业生达48人。 改革开放以来,医院建设得到了全面发展。目前,医院拥有近7000余万元的医疗设备,如:直线加速器、全身CT、磁共振、1000mA大型多功能X光机、DSA、ECT、彩色多普勒、伽玛刀等。医院年门诊量25万人次,住院病人1.4万多人次,手术病人7000余例。有8个临床和医技科室作为全军和军区医学专科中心;有8个科室被第一、二军医大学定为研究生培养点,19名科室主任被聘为硕士研究生的导师、教授、副教授。1995年5月,经全军医院评审委员会评审,
