构建和谐社会是要构建一个经济繁荣、社会进步、人民安居乐业、社会福利不断改善的社会。换句话说, 构建和谐社会就是要使全国从总体小康到全面小康再到富裕型社会的转变。不仅让人们从贫富悬殊到实现共同富裕,还使每一个社会成员各尽所能、充分发挥自己的聪明才智,从而使社会各个阶层和睦相处,社会矛盾趋于平和,基础教育和高等教育普遍发展,精神文化生活丰富多彩,整体国民素质大大提高。在共产党的领导下,大家共同为实现一个综合国力强大,到处呈现出民主法制、公平正义、诫信友爱、充满活力的社会而努力。
