Quantitative study of the relationship between microvessel formation, invasion, metastasis and prognosis of colon cancer. Seventy-six cases of colon cancer were surgically resected. The microvessels of tumor tissue were stained by anti-CD34 monoclonal antibody immunohistochemical ABC method to quantitatively analyze the relationship between the number of microvessels and colon cancer invasion and metastasis. The number of microvessels in colon cancer tissues increased with tumor progression (TNM staging). The number of microvessels in cancers that had undergone hematogenous metastasis was higher than those in regional lymphatic metastases and those without lymphatic metastases. Analysis of 58 patients with follow-up data showed that the 5-year survival rate of colon cancer patients with a higher number of microvessels was significantly lower than that of patients with lower microvascular numbers. The quantification of microvessels is an indicator of colon cancer invasion, metastasis and prognosis.
