北美的网球场一般分为丽种,公众的和私人的。公众的在社区里到处可见,私人的是指在会员制俱乐部里的球场。公众球场都是露天的,没有人管理,不用交费也不需要预定,只要有场地空着,就随来随打;如果人多场地少的时候,都是打30分钟后自觉下场换人。俱乐部里的也有室外场地但大部分是室内的,这是由于气候所致。也有的俱乐部在天冷的时候就把室外场加上“气包”变为室内场。俱乐部的场地是需要预定的,而且每人每周定场地的次数有限制。但即便如此,同样人满为患。虽然都是人多场地少,但是由于大家遵守规定,所以也就相安无事。而俱乐部为
