On November 5, 1996, the nation’s top news press was the Clinton election victory and the reelection of the U.S. president. On the same day, another message came even faster and farther between the Chinese and Asian descent circles. From all over the congratulatory messages are filled with such a joy: the United States finally has a Chinese governor. Some people even called the day of November 5 “a great day.”
