星星草[Puccinellia tenuifiora(Turca)Scribnl.et merr)又名星星怪,是生长在草甸草原,盐渍化土壤碱斑周围的多年生禾本科牧草。此草耐盐耐碱性较强,长3～5叶的幼苗星星草,在土壤酸碱度(pH=10)以上,表土含盐量5%以上,仍然生长良好。其耐塞性也很强,据实验观察,当年播种长出3～5叶的星星草幼苗,在北方冬季-40℃的严寒下,仍能安全越冬,第2年全部返青。它还具有结籽多、采集方便、种籽发芽率离的特点,一般当年播种的星星草种籽发芽率都在70%以上,未发芽的种子在第2年,如温湿度条件适定,还可发芽。星星草的整个生育期为65～80天。如在春季播种星星草,当年即可开花结籽,产籽高峰是在2年以后。一般每亩可产籽50公斤左右。对成熟的星星草采籽,可用镰刀割穗,装入麻袋或塑料袋,
