The British Museum, proud of the British, has been available to the public worldwide for nearly 250 years since January 15, 1759. The British Museum is like a special warehouse, storing the memories, hopes and dreams from the beginning of mankind. This warehouse opens the door to the world. This is the first institution in British history named “British”. Some people say that the name is easily ambiguous because the British Museum not only belongs to the United Kingdom, it may be more appropriate to call it the Museum of Nations. The British Museum has more than 13 million exhibits from different historical periods on all continents and is one of the three major museums in the world renowned for its Louvre in France and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. It is also the first national open in the world to the public
