党的十四大提出了建立社会主义市场经济体制的目标,这是社会主义经济理论的重大突破,对加快我国改革开放和推动社会主义现代化事业具有重大战略意义。实现这一目标,把理论、战略变为实际经济活动、变为可操作的实践,无疑是个艰巨复杂而又急迫的事,其中有许多理论问题和实践问题需要探讨。为此,本刊最近约请一些经济学家和企业家撰写了笔谈稿,并组织了两个座谈会,以期交流思想,加强对社会主义市场经济理论的认识。现将笔谈稿和座谈会报道刊载于下,以飧读者。
The 14th CPC National Congress set forth the goal of establishing a socialist market economic system. This is a major breakthrough in the socialist economic theory and is of great strategic significance for accelerating China’s reform and opening up as well as promoting the cause of socialist modernization. Achieving this goal and turning theories and strategies into practical economic activities into actionable practices undoubtedly are arduous and complex matters. There are many theoretical and practical issues to be explored. To this end, we have recently invited some economists and entrepreneurs to write written talks and organized two seminars in the hope of exchanging ideas and understanding of the theory of socialist market economy. The presentations and symposium reports are now published under the heading of readers.
